PreSchool Partners College Scholarship

The PreSchool Partners Scholarship Fund is a part of and administered by PreSchool Partners and the Saint Luke’s Foundation.  The fund was created for the purpose of providing financial assistance to graduates of PreSchool Partners who are enrolling in college.  The fund provides scholarships for undergraduate studies at 2- or 4-year colleges. The minimum annual grant is $1,000, however the majority of the grants awarded are $4,000 per year.

Grants are made for a one-year period, but a recipient may receive up to four grants.  The recipient needs to maintain a 2.5 GPA in order to receive future funding. 

Criteria

The criteria used for selection of scholarship recipients will be:

 

         -academic performance in the three years prior to the date of application

         -character

         -extracurricular activities and community involvement

         - financial need

          -essay 

         -interview with scholarship awards committee

Essay Options

Please choose your essay from one of the topics below:


1. Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.

2. The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?

3. Describe a problem you've solved or a problem you'd like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma - anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.

4. Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.

5. Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?

Scholarship funds may be used for books, fees, and room and board if applicant has received other scholarships funds covering tuition.

All scholarship funds will be paid directly to the educational institution except in the case of reimbursing the applicant for approved funding of books, fees, and room and board.
